Viva Cuba's stock in trade food-wise is a Spanish and Cuban-based tapas, but this is a cut above much of the other tapas you may have sampled elsewhere.
There's subdued lighting and plenty of candles to create a warm, cosy feel that does a great job of shutting out the outside world. The restaurant’s decor has plenty of fun and funky artwork with a distinctly authentic Cuban feel. As for Fidel himself, let’s just say fans of Castro will not be disappointed and can gaze lovingly into the ailing revolutionary’s eyes from several vantage points around the room.
Plenty of seating, including ridiculously comfy leather couches, makes this relaxing cocoon ideal for that post-work drink or for students from the nearby universities to meet up after lectures. If you don’t feel like eating, the generously-proportioned bar area is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two just shooting the breeze with friends over a Mojito or three.
